To celebrate British Pie Week we enjoyed a leisurely lunch by the river Thames at the Founders Arms with stunning views over St Pauls and the City of London.
To accompany our lunch time shandies, we all chose the Steak and Mushroom in Young’s Ale pie at £10.95.
It didn’t disappoint and delivered a meaty and tasty filling and gravy, topped by a puff pastry lid.
First reactions were that the gravy looked a little watery, but fears were proved unfounded. The mash was a tiny bit lumpy, but the vegetables were of a decent standard.
The service was efficient from the pleasant staff and all in all it was a very pleasant way to spend an hour out of the office.
