I stayed at the Highway Inn in Burford for a wedding last weekend and had dinner on the Friday evening, partaking in an incredibly delicious game pie. I can’t say that I identified all of the meat, but it was beautifully cooked, the pie rich and full with a light puff pastry lid. It came with a tasty bubble and squeak together with roasted carrots. The inn has a good quality selection of ales and specials and I particularly enjoyed the Cotswolds lager. Extremely friendly owners. And a great English cooked breakfast in the morning. Highly recommended.
