N is for Nepalese

Namaste readers. The Nepal Restaurant in White City was a real winner. Authentic, affordable food served by lovely staff in a busy and bright restaurant. What’s not to like?

Starters included Momo (Nepalese dumplings, with minced lamb, chicken or vegetables at £7.95 for 10) and hot Chhoyela (grilled lamb marinated with green chilli, fresh ginger, garlic and Nepalese herbs, £7.95).

We could have gone with any of the delicious mains, but enjoyed Chicken Salone, cooked with cream, coconut and medium hot Nepalese spices (£9.45) and Lamb Kathmandu, cooked with fresh tomatoes, green chillies, onions, curry leaves ginger and garlic (£9.95). With obligatory roti, naan bread and rice.

A good pudding is an easy win towards a decent Piehunter score. The Nepal Restaurant had some good local options including this strangely tasty black pepper cheesecake.

This was one of the best venues yet on our London tour of global culinary delights.
